St Patrick’s Day in Wine Country » BALLOONS ABOVE THE VALLEY - Hot Air Balloon California Rides

St. Patrick’s Day is a time for celebration throughout the world. “Wearin’ o’ the Green” tends to make all of a bit Irish, if for only one day or a week. The tradition is very much alive in Napa Valley as visitors and locals come together to celebrate the magic of Ireland.

This year is no different. Napa Valley’s businesses and communities are offering a full slate of Irish-focused activities, foods, music, locally crafted ales, and, of course, some of the world’s best wines.

To kick off the fun, start the morning by greeting the sun with a hot air balloon group tour above the returning greenery of beautiful Napa Valley.

Since March 17 falls on a Tuesday this year, you will find special events and celebrations almost every day during the week in Napa Valley.

  • Sunday, March 15, Golf at Napa Golf Course, St, Patrick’s Shotgun Scramble

Join your friends to tee off at 7:30AM for a truly unique golf experience. Following the event, you can recount your adventures (and mis-adventures) with friends and new acquaintances.

  • Sunday, March 15, 1:00PM: St.Patty’s Tea at Ackerman Heritage House

The March edition of the Ackerman Heritage House will host a St.Patty’s Day Tea with delightful creations by Pastry Chef Jennifer Smith. While enjoying the historic grounds and buildings of the Victorian home, you will also have a chance to sample some of the excellent Ackerman Estate wines.

Make this the most memorable St. Patrick’s Day of your life. Greet the morning with an exhilarating and spectacular balloon ride above Napa Valley. Safe and serene, your professional pilot will guide your balloon above the Valley floor which is fringed by the mountainous landscape on either side. Cap the adventure with a champagne brunch at C Casa in Napa and a guided wine tour.

  • Tuesday, March 17, Napa St. Patrick’s Day Party with the Old Shenachie

Join Irish singer, Old Shenachie, at 5:00 and 7:30PM in downtown Napa as he leads all Irish wannabes in singing traditional Irish songs punctuated with real Irish humor. With no cover charge, visitors can enjoy the fun and music at Downtown Joe’s in Napa while tasting green beer, Irish stout, and corned beef and cabbage. The Irish Band, The Sorry Lot, will follow.

  • Tuesday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day at the Famous Bounty Hunter
